Food: Morning Pumpkin!

As its nearly Halloween, I thought I’d share a picture I took a few weeks back at the crack of dawn of a beautiful pumpkin field ! No, I don’t usually stalk pumpkins in the mornings, I actually pass this field on my way to work and just couldn’t resist stopping to take a few snaps. Happy Halloween!

Fashion: More from Paris Fashion Week!

Clockwise: Balenciaga, Kenzo, Carven, Sharon Wauchob, Paul & Joe, Valentino, Dior, Rabih Kayrouz, Roland Mouret.

Here are some more of my highlights from Paris Fashion Week! A favourite trend of mine for SS13 is feminine artisan construction, proving popular at Balenciaga, Carven and Valentino, while the statement fit & flare dress at Dior is a classic shape to buy into. I just love the cropped jackets at Kenzo and Roland Mouret – a more wearable style for ss13, and even more tempting with a good print! Casual vests teamed with flowing maxi skirts and macs will be a styling trend I’ll be going for as will the gorgeous sports luxe trend – all sharp raglan sleeves and block colour – as seen at Rabih Kayrouz. Can’t wait for next summer already!

Fashion: Paris Fashion Week Highlights – Dries Van Noten

Now there were ALOT of beautifully crafted collections at PFW, more highlights of which shall be blogged about soon, but Dries van Noten’s was the one for me!

Checks often get used season after season but these colourways styled with such feminine fabrics and chic silhouettes give them a whole new lease of life. Soft tailoring and florals get refreshed in a sophisticated muted palette of reds, vintage blue, green and antique white. The styling really is essential in mixing up the prints subtly, offering up a chic grunge look – just love every piece!

Food: Chocolate Tiffin

This sweet treat is pure indulgence, and even better – involves no actual baking! The recipe is from an extract of the new Gü recipe book in the You Daily Mail Sunday supplement. I’m actually eating this while typing, just so good!

Get the recipe here! I used half ginger biscuits and would use more chocolate on top for a thicker layer. You really have to press the biscuit base down to get some even layers – I clearly didn’t do that but it still tastes amazing!

Fashion: Milan Fashion Week Highlights

CLockwise from top left: Bottega Veneta,  Gabriele Colangelo, Dolce and Gabbana, Antonio Marras, John Richmond, Les Copains.

Milan Fashion Week presented some beautiful feminine looks in true Italian style for SS13, and here are some of my favourites. I love the neckline of the Bottega Veneta dress, the structure of the block coloured shirt and drop hems at Colangelo, and the classic LDB, given a revealing upgrade at Dolce & Gabbana. The sheer craftsmanship in Antonio Marass’ example is contemporary Italian fashion at its best while the pencil skirt x oversized fitted top combo is my favourite styling trend of the moment!

Fashion: LFW SS13 Highlight – Preen

London stood quite small in comparison to New York this season I felt but Preen stood out for me at LFW by far. The sharp cuts and fabric contrasts are sliced through with a refreshing use of snakeskin. The silhouettes kept the collection sophisticated and feminine while asymmetric panelling, subtle colour blocking and beautifully considered fabrications kept each piece contemporary and totally wearable. I would happily fill my wardrobe with this collection!

There will be a couple more posts on my highlights from MFW and PFW coming soon!

Food: Pick a Pepper!

Here we have our first home grown peppers that the boyf has been growing in our little greenhouse! Funny choice to grow really as he cant actually stand the heat of them but I’ll be disguising them in stir fry’s, curries and might try and stuff some of the jalapeños! From the top we have just one normal green pepper, jalapeños and red hot chilli peppers.
