Salvage: Deck Chair Before & After

deck chair, deck chair restoration,

Its been a long while since my last blog post, nearly a year in fact-oops!

Planning our wedding definitely took up ALL of my spare time, and my little kitchen table was full of various DIY projects giving me no room to take photos of any food, which has been a shame as there have been quite a few blog worthy recipes, but I’ll just have to make them again to photograph!

Having posted a few wed inspiration mood boards since our engagement, it would be rude not to show you some photos from the main event so stay tuned for a post full of details from our wedding! But in the meantime, I want to show you a recent salvage project I helped a friend with.

One of my dearest friends, Rosie acquired a fantastic deck chair found at her new house in South London that was in need of some serious love. So, as Rosie started on sanding, staining and varnishing the frame, I cut and constructed the replacement fabric which Rosie sourced from John Lewis (Oxford Street). It was a nice and quick project that resulted in a beautiful piece of garden furniture that now has a new lease of life thanks to a bit of TLC!

I love little projects like this – quick to do but with a very satisfying result! I’m currently in the middle of a garden revamp myself so am always on the look out for unique garden furniture to upcycle so please feel free to comment with any ideas!

I’m currently in love with unusual planter ideas, see my Pinterest board here.
